I spent this week with some amazing people... my VBS tour teammates! I loved having the opportunity to travel across the state helping others learn how to teach VBS. Colossal Coaster World is great material w/ lots of fun games and activities, yet full of spiritual truths to draw children, youth and adults to a deeper understanding and relationship with Jesus Christ. I'd do it all over again tomorrow!
When I got back to Montgomery, I jumped in the car with my hubby and we headed to Birmingham to have dinner with family. Yep, I'm crazy! We were celebrating my mom's birthday (from January), my parents 54th wedding anniversary and my big brother's birthday. I realized as I sat with my mom and dad that I'm so very fortunate to have both of my parents living and still married to one another. The past 54 years haven't been easy. They have endured many changes and hardships in their years together - but they have made it work - somehow, someway. Maybe it's because there is something there stronger than love. They have always relied on God to get them through whatever came their way. And HE always provided, protected, and carried them through. I thank them for showing me what a real marriage looks like and how to love through all the ups and downs of married life. I pray I've given that gift to my children.
Next week I'll be meeting up with some friends at a retreat in Callaway Gardens. Rest. Relaxation. Rejuvenation. That's what is on the schedule!
But for now, I'm going to bed. You see, tomorrow is Sunday and I'm excited about going to my Father's House to worship. I pray that you too will be getting up in the morning to go to your place of worship to give praise to your heavenly Father.
Thanks for letting me share.
Goodnight.
"Happy Exhaustion" is a great way to describe it! Loved getting to serve with you, Patty!! :)
